Do you know that Christians face spiritual warfare each day? Many Christians think spiritual warfare ended in bible times, but this is not the case.
One of the enemy's best strategies against Christians is leading them to believe he no longer exists. When Christians buy such lies, he makes a mess of their lives and relationship with God while duping them into believing he is not at fault.
Every Christian must know spiritual warfare and equip themselves to stand firm when the enemy attacks.
What Is Spiritual Warfare?
Spiritual warfare refers to the battle in the spiritual realm between God's kingdom and Satan's kingdom. It refers to the conflict between light and darkness and good and evil.
For a Christian, it is the fight against principalities, rulers of darkness, powers, and spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
It is a fierce battle that the enemy wages for the mind and soul of the individual believer. The enemy knows once he captures the believer in these areas, he has won the battle. He is relentless and ruthless in his struggle against the believer.
How Does The Enemy Wage The War?
The enemy's strategy is to control people's minds by making them disbelieve the gospels.
the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
The Bible refers to Satan as the god of this world.
The prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
When he controls a person's thinking, they become hostile towards God.
There is hope, however, for a person whose thoughts are just like everyone else, controlled by the values of the world and the culture around us. If you have society's morals and attitudes and a mind against God, faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ can reconcile you to God.
Yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach—
When you have Christ, you renew your mind in His word. You do not have to live without hope in this world, bogged down by despair. When you believe in Jesus, you become set apart for God, and the Holy Spirit dwells in you and empowers you to change.
According to Romans 12:2, you can renew your mind and live to have a deep relationship with God.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect (Romans 12:2)
After giving your life to Christ, you may find that a battle ensues and continues in your mind. This battle for your mind is referred to as spiritual warfare. It is waged for the control of your mind by the enemy so that he can control your actions.
The enemy wants to afflict and distract you so that you get your focus off Christ and His Word. He wants you to focus on things contrary to God's word.
Before we look at how to fight the battle and win, here are a few facts you need to know about spiritual warfare.
· Know that the enemy's goal is to keep Christians ineffective and sow doubt regarding all the beliefs of the Christian faith. He endeavours to keep non-Christians from coming to the faith. He does not give up easily and is always on the prowl for whom he may devour
· He attacks us personally by inciting divisions, infighting, and separation so Christians will not be known for their love but look like the rest of the world. When divisions take hold, the enemy quickly accuses the brethren before God.
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night (Revelation 12:10)
· You keep your mind protected from the attacks of the evil one by putting on the full armour of God.
To live a victorious Christian life, every believer needs to understand what God has equipped us with to win the battle waged against us by the fiend. We must know the things we need to stand firm in this battle.
Blessing,
Ps Stephan
